After succesfully compiled ed installing ce 15.7 …
I have some trouble starting scidb

scidb@scidb:~$ scidb.py startall mydb

scidb.py: ERROR: Failed to start SciDB!

config.ini is:

Maslopo,

As the error message indicates, you should remove from config.ini the line “tmp-path=…”.
I’m curious how the line ended up in there in the first place. If you follow the build instructions at the bottom of
http://forum.paradigm4.com/t/release-15-7/843, i.e. if you use ‘run.py setup’, ‘run.py make’, and ‘run.py install’, a valid config.ini file will be automatically generated, and it should not include the ‘tmp-path=…’ line.

Thanks, dinghui,

I did not know that the compilation would create the file ./home/scidb/scidbtrunk/install/installer/common/config.ini
so I created it by google : -)

Now this is the output …

scidb@scidb:/$ scidb.py startall single_server
Postgres user: scidb_pg_user
Postgres password [scidb_pg_user]:
Re-enter password:
Update /home/scidb/.pgpass? [y]|n: y

start(server 0 (localhost) local instance 1)
Starting SciDB server.
start(server 0 (localhost) local instance 2)
Starting SciDB server.
start(server 0 (localhost) local instance 3)
Starting SciDB server.

scidb.py: ERROR: Failed to start SciDB!

The error message is always the same, and is not very explanatory,
where can I find a detailed log?
