SciDB upgrade by minor version

#1

Using hypothetical version numbers here, but the problem can occur for any version number:

I have SciDB 15.12.0 installed on my system. I want to upgrade to SciDB 15.12.1 i.e. a minor version upgrade. How can I do it so that I do not delete the postgres tables, and the loaded arrays?

Assuming that the minor upgrade does not change the underlying data storage format, Enterprise customers who install SciDB from packages can do the following:

Stop SciDB on all nodes

scidb.py stopall <cluster_name>

ON EACH NODE with sudo privileges:

sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install --only-upgrade paradigm4-15.12-p4
sudo apt-get install --only-upgrade paradigm4-15.12-all-coord #for the coordinator only
sudo apt-get install --only-upgrade paradigm4-15.12-all

Now you are free to start SciDB. You can check the version number by:

scidb --version
