Scidb 12.3 initializing error

#1

Hi,

I’m trying to setup a single-instance system.

This is the error I get initializing scidb…
$ python scidb.py startall test1
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “scidb.py”, line 803, in
masterSrv = srvList[0]
IndexError: list index out of range

Postgres is up and running. The scidb-prepare-db.sh worked fine.

Configuration file contents of config.ini:
[test1]
instance-0=localhost,0
db_user=test1u
db_passwd=test1P
install_root=/opt/scidb/12.3
metadata=/opt/scidb/12.3/share/scidb/meta.sql
pluginsdir=/opt/scidb/12.3/lib/scidb/plugins
logconf=/opt/scidb/12.3/share/scidb/log4cxx.properties
base-path=/not_backed_up/home/scidb/data
base-port=1239
interface=eth0
no-watchdog=true
redundancy=1
merge-sort-buffer=1024
network-buffer=1024
mem-array-threshold=1024
smgr-cache-size=1024
execution-threads=16
result-prefetch-queue-size=4
result-prefetch-threads=4
chunk-segment-size=10485760

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for asking. I believe the file should say
server-0=localhost,0

Try that. It’s a bit of a doc messup on our part.
Let me know if that resolves the issue.

Hi,

Yes that worked.

Thanks,
Tom

#4

Hi,

Also redundancy should be 0 for single server install.

Thanks,
Tom

Thanks for posting the problem and the answer! I had the same error and the fix worked for me.
