I came across the video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY9koMvo2OU)
that describes the interaction between SciDB, R and Shiny. I am currently working on an academic project that is similar to the example in the video. Is there any way I can get the source code to it?

Sure - it’s here: https://github.com/Paradigm4/variant_warehouse/blob/master/shiny_browser
It’s been some time since we looked at this app carefully. It might be out of date.

In fact, recently I’ve grown fond of the dygraphs for R package. If I were to rewrite this app, I would use something like this: https://rstudio.github.io/dygraphs/gallery-custom-plotters.html

It’s a lot faster with javascript, and has built-in functions for zooming.
