Get up and running - port error

#1

Hi,

I am standing up SciDB for the first time to get familiar with it and evaluate using it.

I have installed it for standalone mode on a Ubuntu VM (using VMWare) running on a MAC just to get started before setting up multiple servers for it.

I am getting an error when trying to start the SingleInstance…

“sudo -u scidb /opt/scidb/13.3/bin/scidb.py startall SingleInstance"
results in
"ssh failure: server 127.0.0.1 port=22 [Errno 111] Connection refused”

Can you give me any guidance as to my mistake?

Thanks,
-Adam

Hi Adam,

Did you set up password-less ssh on your machine?
You need to be able login as
ssh scidb@127.0.0.1
without a password.

you might need openssh installed on the server.

sudo apt-get install openssh-server openssh-client
