Building SciDB 12.3 under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

#1

Hi all,

I just managed to build SciDB 12.3 under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - basically followed the instruction to build under Ubuntu, except that:

  • libboost 1.42 is not available via apt-get, but 1.46 would work (not 1.48)
  • also you need libncurses5-dev installed, otherwise you will get “/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lncurses” error when linking bin/iquery

Hope it helps others going down the same path.

Just realized that array is a keyword in postgreSQL. SELECT * FROM “array” works.

So my question is, is there any way in iquery to view stored arrays? Or the only option is to view on postgreSQL?

Thanks a lot. It really solved my problem!

Yes, you can view stored arrays in iquery. The easiest way is to use AFL.
This query lists all of your arrays, and their schemas:

Then, for a specific array, use:

or, in AQL, the equivalent query is:

If your intent is to get the names / schemas of all stored arrays in iquery - use the list operator. As in

list('arrays')
